Hello there Ladies... It's January and I don't know about you, but I always look forward to that first quilt meeting... I like to see what everyones been up too and I also like to see what the new board has in store for us. Like many of you I like to set new quilt goals for myself for the year as well, wether its participating in the challenge or block of the month or learning something new each month... this years goal for me is to get all unfinished beginnings out of my sewing room so I can start some fun new stuff with you ladies!
Heading into quilt meeting this month was a little crazy! Everyone one was bustling in to get there on time to get their name in for the on time drawing (which there wasn't, way to stir the pot new board) sign in and pay dues, this all created a bit of mayhem!
Look at Colleen, collecting those dues and keeping the flow going! She is awesome and does an amazing job!
After we got all settled in Kate the Great delivered her "Round Tuit's" she always is so creative with these and has something new for us every month... check out this months...
This was my "round tuit"... thanks Katie, I think I will!..... However, Sam was not so lucky!
Hey check out that smile :) I don't think she minds too much, do you?
Next Ardith Higley gave us the low down on our Charity quilts for last year... I don't remember the numbers but I will tell you this ladies... we did a WHOLE lotta good last year!!! Thanks Ardith for all you do in keeping us feeling those warm fuzzies and keeping others covered in all those warm fuzzies! We just love you.
Then we had Valyn Andrus give us a BAJILLION quilt tips and ALL were amazing... alas I didn't get one single picture... Ugh! Must have been when I was experiencing technical difficulties... sorry Valyn. I do remember a few though, my favorites were the sewing caddy to keep all your stuff handy and nearby, I also liked that is was small enough you could pick it up and take it with you from work space to work space. I liked the magnet idea for displaying all your scissors, the thread organizers etc... so much good stuff I look forward to see what see what new stuff she will share with us next month!
Kathy England was up next with this years Block of the Month.... 2 words ladies... SO. CUTE.
She is a natural teacher... don't you agree? She was explaining fabric choices and fusible stabilizer options for this adorable project! I can't wait to see what you all come up with.
Now the favorite of every meeting... SHOW AND TELL!!!!
Aren't they amazing? And you know what I love?.... check out the SMILES on those ladies! I love it! They work so hard on these projects and I would be smiling too! .... I think some of these are show and tell and I think some are round tuits from November... sorry I don't know which are which but I do know they are all beautiful!
Lastly we were taught how to make these darling and practical little zipper bags...
I went right home and whipped one up! So fun and easy... I already took mine on a weekend trip and decided that my husband needs his own... I mean really, why am I carrying around all his stuff when he could have his own? I'm thinking that cow fabric would be just the ticket!
