Block Exchange 2024

Block Exchange 2024

 1. Choose two colors of fabric. One background color and one focus color. The same color in two different shades is fine. But, only two colors may be used. I purchased 3 yards of focus fabric and 4 yards of background to include borders (you will likely have fabric returned to you that may be used for borders as well).

2. Cut 12 fat quarters of each color (remember you will have extra background fabric).

3. Make one block for yourself to keep now. The completed block should be 12 1/2”.  With seam allowances and sewn into the quilt it will measure finished 12 inches.

4. Place a fat quarter of each of the remaining fabric (one background and one focus color) into a ziploc bag.  Make up 11 bags. Do NOT put your name on the bags of fabric.

5. Bring your 11 bags to the March 19th meeting.

You will receive 11 bags of fabric, all different.

6. Sew a block from each bag. Place the block and extra fabric back in its bag.

7. Write your name on each bag, or place a slip of paper with your name on it inside each bag so the person(s) receiving your finished blocks may add your name to their finished quilt where they like.

8. Bring the 11 completed blocks and their left over fabric to our August meeting to exchange for your own blocks in return!
